CM receives 4 courtesy calls

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received four separate courtesy calls at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia yesterday.

First to call on him was a delegation from the Labuan Financial Services Authority ( Labuan FSA) led by their general manager Danial Mah Abdullah.

The visit was to strengthen the strategic relationsh­ip between Labuan FSA and the state government.

Next to see him was a delegation from Pricewater­house Coopers ( PWC) led by their executive chairman Dato Mohammad Fais Asmi.

The courtesy call was to introduce the share partners of PWC - Nurul Abdul Latif, Patrick Tay and PWC senior executive director Albert Lee Chon Wei.

The third visit was by University Putra Malaysia strategic corporate and communicat­ions deputy director Professor Dr Rusea Go to present an early draft of a book entitled ‘ Sarawak Orchid Lime Stone Flowers’ before it is published.

Present at the visit were Assistant Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administra­tion and Environmen­t Datu Len Talif Salleh and Sarawak Forest Department assistant director Runi Sylvester Pungga.

The last to call on the chief minister was a delegate from the Malaysian Trade Unions Congress ( MTUC) led by their chairman Mohamad Ibrahim Hamid.

During the meet, MTUC handed Abang Johari a memorandum which touches on the welfare of workers especially in Sarawak.
