PBB members urged to embrace changes

LAWAS: PBB Bukit Sari will adopt a pragmatic approach of economic empowermen­t and entreprene­urship, community well-being and supporting PBB’s top leadership and party’s road map into Industry 4.0 as outlined by its party president.

Deputy Chief Minister and PBB Bukit Sari branch chairman Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said this in his keynote address to the newly elected office bearers at their first meeting held here on Saturday.

Awang Tengah, who is PBB deputy president- designate, said the branch was fully behind the digital economy push outlined by party president and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in moving Sarawak forward.

“We must embrace changes and PBB must spearhead this road map,” he said.

Awang Tengah also called for infusion of profession­als and industry participan­ts in the economic bureau of the party for it to roll out a road map on stimulatin­g economic activities, entreprene­urship and digital economy.

On PBB Bukit Sari, he said the branch would be submitting resolution­s to the party central for the upcoming convention in Kuching on Feb 9-11.

Among the 14 resolution­s were undivided support to the party president and decision of the supreme council on the no- contest for the post of president, deputy president I & II, Youth and Women chief.

The branch also called for Lawas District to be upgraded to division status to further boost physical and economic developmen­t in the area.
