MIRI: Senadin assemblyman Datuk Lee Kim Shin will continue to monitor the quality of the 1Malaysia clinic in his constituency to ensure that it provides the best service to patients.

“In addition to providing excellent service, we want medical facilities and staff at the 1Malaysia Clinic to be reliable,” the Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture said during a site visit to the 1Malaysia Clinic in Senadin here yesterday.

Lee added that the visit was also to look into problems and shortcomings faced by the Senadin 1Malaysia Clinic.

“I received a complaint that there are members of the public who still do not know the location of the clinic. Therefore, I suggest a large and well-placed signboard in front of the road.

“I also propose that the current location be transferred to the building along the main road to make it easier for the public to come for treatment,” said Lee, adding that he would finance the signboards in three languages – Malay, English and Chinese.

Prior to this, Lee also donated a machine for the use of asthma patients.

“So far the clinic is run by two medical assistants and two staff nurse. We receive about 70 patients daily with majority seeking treatment for mild illness, wound sores and asthma,” he said.

Lee pointed out that previously the clinic had the service of doctor but he was transferred to Permyjaya 1Malaysia Clinic.

“We advise parents to send their children to the Tudan Health Clinic,” he added.

Also present was Tudan Health Clinic officer-in- charge Dr Maurice Steve Utap and health officer attendant Yusak Wan.

Dr Maurice said the Senadin 1Malaysia Clinic, which started operation in 2011, opens daily from 9am to 9pm.
