Azri stops sweep of Brunei musclemen

MIRI: Bodybuilde­rs from Brunei Darussalam dominated the stage in the Muscle Peak Classic 2018 held at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall here on Sunday.

The first three places in both the 70kg & Above and Sport Physique categories all hailed from Brunei.

Zorizal Johari won the 70kg & above title followed by Hadiman Yahman and Abu Sufian Musa.

The Sport Physique event crowned Abdul Salam Awang Aji as the winner while Khairol Azmi Omar and Md Tajul Asikin Jafar finished second and third respective­ly.

It was left to Miri’s Azri Asmat Sefri, who represente­d Gym Miak Besi, to stop Brunei’s strangleho­ld when he lifted the Below 70kg title.

Ho w e v e r , two B r u n e i bodybuilde­rs Muhamad Alimasdi Alisa and Asriwendy Majid still finished runner-up and third.

Cash prizes for the top three in the two bodybuildi­ng events were RM1,388 (first), RM888 (second) and RM688 (third).

The first three winners in the Sport Physique category received RM1,088, RM688 and RM388.

Muscle Peak Classic 2018 was jointly organised by See Hua Marketing and Muscle Peak Miri.

It was one of highlights of the 17th Miri Trade Fair ( Mitraf ) held at Permaisuri Imperial City Mall

A total of 45 participan­ts with the bulk from Brunei Darussalam took part in the tournament.
