Pizza Hut launches all-new Cheese-Sang Cheesy Bites to usher in new lunar year
KUCHING: Malaysia’s top pizza chain Pizza Hut Malaysia has launched its first ever ‘CheeseSang Cheesy Bites’, to usher in the ‘ Year of the Dog’ of the Chinese zodiac calendar.
The new offering is available at all Pizza Hut Malaysia outlets – either for dine-in, delivery or take-away – until next month.
It comes complete with eighteen generous bites full of oozing cheddar and mozzarella cheese, topped with crispy fried tempura king prawns, and pineapples on a bed of creamy salted egg sauce.
“This Chinese New Year, Pizza Hut is encouraging Malaysians to pause and take time to do something that makes them or others happy wherever they may be.
“Malaysians live in a multicultural society where everyone, regardless of race or religion, can enjoy happy times together,” said a press statement issued at the launch here yesterday.
QSR Brands ( M) Holdings Bhd chief executive officer Merrill Pereyra was quoted as saying: “As the leading pizza chain in Malaysia, we pride ourselves in being the brand that connects people to enjoy the happy times as they share a great pizza together. This Chinese New Year shouldn’t be any different.”
He pointed out that the ‘CheeseSang Cheesy Bites’ set was inspired by the ‘yee sang’ tradition – it is part of Pizza Hut Malaysia’s decision ‘ to marry the yee sang concept with pizza’.
“It is our own way of bringing cheer to our customers. We know that happiness is contagious – it spreads to people and amplifies, regardless of race or religion. That’s how we believe we can impact society – through the Cheese-Sang Cheesy Bites,” added Pereyra.
The Cheese-Sang Cheesy Bites’ a la carte goes for RM39 for a regular size or as a combo.
Pizza Hut Malaysia offers three combos namely the ‘Golden Prosperity Meal’, ‘ Double Happiness Meal’ and ‘ Double Fortune Meal’, priced at RM79.80, RM46.80 and RM43.60, respectively.
The ‘Golden Prosperity Meal’, which caters for four to five people, includes a regular- sized Cheese- Sang Cheesy Bites pizza, an addition of one regular- sized pan/ hand- stretched favourite pizza, a plate of salted egg prawns, an appetiser, four drinks and four ice- creams.
The ‘ Double Happiness Meal’ – for two to three people – comes as a choice of either a regular-sized Cheese- Sang Cheesy Bites pizza, a pan/ hand- stretched supreme pizza or favourite pizza, one appetiser and two drinks.
The ‘ Double Fortune Meal’ – for two to three people – comes with a regular-sized Cheese- Sang Cheesy Bites pizza, two cream- ofmushroom soups, one appetiser and two drinks.
Pizza Hut Malaysia informs that prices for the Cheese- Sang Cheesy Bites and its combos may vary depending on location.
