Love and affection take centre stage at The Raintree Restaurant on Valentine’s Day

-

KUCHING: Valentine’s Day is not just about romance any more when it comes to celebrating and honouring love with fine food.

At The Raintree Restaurant, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching ( BCCK), it is an occasion imbued with love, affection, friendship and the like.

“The spirit of Saint Valentine – of abiding love, affections and friendship – is what we would like to celebrate at The Raintree Restaurant.

“Our team is looking forward to commemorating this Valentine’s Day with some special treats for diners,” said Eric van Piggelen, BCCK’s chief executive officer.

Be it a pair or a group of three, five or seven, the passionate culinary team backed by an impeccable service team at the restaurant will lavish couples, families and friends with a fourcourse Valentine dinner, priced at RM299 nett for every dining pair, while the “odd” diner gets the single portion at RM150 nett. All prices are inclusive of the six per cent government service tax.

Starters have been designed to include two delectable items: oyster and crabmeat infused in chilled tomato purée; and clam chowder glazed with saffron foam and vegetable chiffonade.

Two options of a main course accentuate the celebration: charcoal- grilled Australian rib eye flanked by air-dried tomatoes, asparagus spears, cauliflower purée and Sarawak pepper; or pan- seared miso salmon on Japanese rice cake accompanied by asparagus spears, edamame beans and lemon herb butter sauce.

Either option promises the diner a delightful choice in terms of what the experienced chefs can deliver with the ingredients and flavours.

An indulgent tres leches cake ( light, spongy cake) with fresh strawberries, complemented by tea or coffee, makes for a memorable after- dinner treat.

The Valentine’s Day dinner will be served from 6.30pm to 10pm. The Raintree Restaurant can be reached on 082- 392988 for more information and reservations.
