-

JOHOR BAHRU: The Home Ministry is working closely with the police from Australia and the United Kingdom ( UK) in acquiring new techniques to curb activities involving the uploading and downloading pornographic pictures and visuals of children in the country.

Its deputy minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said the police also monitored such activities on the Internet, citing the incident last year in which a British national was found to have sexually abused children by using Malaysia as a centre for committing such offences.

“So we have intensified efforts to track and collaborate with the Australian and UK police to learn the latest techniques or new methods used by paedophiles to hunt and arrest them if there is sufficient evidence,” he told reporters after officiating at the 33rd anniversary launch of the Johor level Farmers’ Market here yesterday.
