Work closely with govt bodies for more development — MP

-

BINTULU: Grassroots leaders here are urged to work closely with government agencies to ensure greater development.

Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said there is a need to have a strong collaboration and understanding between the people, especially among the grassroots leaders, and the government in order to bring this division to greater heights.

He assured the people that he would continue to give his best service, hoping that the voters would give a strong mandate to Barisan Nasional ( BN) in the coming 14th general election.

“The people must show their sincerity in proving their support by giving a strong mandate to BN,” said Tiong, who is Progressive Democratic Party ( PDP) president, during his series of visits to several longhouses here recently.

At the same time, he reminded the people, especially those in the longhouses, to be wary of slanders made by irresponsible parties against the BN government.

“I urge the people in our multi- racial community to preserve our unity with the other ethnic groups by not touching on any racial sensitivity,” he stressed.

He said the government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had always emphasised on the people’s wellbeing by introducing various development transformations to improve their living standards.
