KUCHING: The Kuching South City Council ( MBKS) has been commended for having strong and sound policies, which enables it to address the needs of members from diverse communities.

The Hindu Temple Association Kuching ( HTAK), in a statement yesterday, also lauded Kuching City South Mayor Datuk James Chan on his leadership. The temple’s site is within the jurisdiction of MBKS.

“The MBKS, under the leadership of Mayor James Chan, has been delivering timely and much-needed services to the communities in Kuching.

“It is also instrumental in making Kuching a great City by focusing on creating the green concept, creating positive environmental impact for residents and interacting with the people through partnerships with the NGOs (non-governmental organisations), community associations, community leaders and residents. We are lucky to have a dedicated mayor and we hope that he continues to support Kuching communities, especially the Indians,” HTAK said in a press statement released in conjunction with a courtesy call on Chan here yesterday.

Members of the temple management, led by their president V Sahundararaju, went to see Chan for advice on potential future developments for Kuching Hindu Temple.

The HTAK delegates also expressed their gratitude to the mayor for his kind, ongoing support to the local Indian Community.
