Casamia Bakery Cafe offers best of both worlds

MIRI: The Casamia Bakery Cafe has opened its doors, offering the best of both worlds to pastry and local food lovers.

The bakery/restaurant is located at Pin Fook Garden, Jalan Camwood near the Morsjaya Commercial Centre here.

On its menu are freshly-baked breads, buns, cakes and pastries, burgers, pizzas, pasta dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese and Pasta Carbonara, the popular fish-andchips, crispy chicken and chips, as well as local favourites like ‘pau’ (steamed buns), ‘kolo mee’, fried noodles, fried chicken rice, curry chicken rice and ‘lalapan ayam’.

The breakfast selection includes the simple English Breakfast, chicken floss mayonnaise omelette, half-boiled eggs and butter-kaya toasts. For beverages, the outlet serves cappuccino, espresso, latte and tea.

Casamia Bakery Cafe has both indoor and outdoor dining to accommodat­e customers, allowing them to relax and unwind while enjoying their favourite snacks and drinks.

Cafe proprietor Steven Ngiam has over 25 years of experience in the industry and is known for his creative cake decoration­s, which earned him numerous state and national-level recognitio­ns in cake- decorating competitio­ns in 1995, 1997 and 2001.

During his early years in the business, he opened a bakery here but sold it off before going to Brisbane, Australia to open up a bakery. Armed with this experience, he came back to open Casamia Bakery Café here.

“It is not just about operating a food business; it is also about showcasing artistic creativity in making these products. It is a meticulous process – only the best is served to our customers; the bad ones are discarded,” he said, adding that there would be special items being sold at low prices every month at the restaurant.

Casamia Bakery Cafe opens daily, from 7am to 9.30pm.
