PTA eyes RM50,000 from charity dinner
SIBU: SK Agama Sibu parentteacher association ( PTA) targets to raise RM50,000 in proceeds from its inaugural charity dinner, to be held at Sibu Civic Centre next month.
According to programme coordinator Mohd Safree Mohd Kassim, the fund will be used to upgrade school infrastructures, to fund the PTA activities throughout the year, as well as for the welfare and education needs of the pupils and their teachers.
“The organising committee hopes that the programme would achieve its target through contribution from the local elected people’s representatives, corporate players, those from the private sector and NGOs (nongovernmental organisations), as well as former students and members of the public,” said Mohd Safree, who is also the PTA chairman and Sarawak United

In thanking the PTA committee for inviting him to become the programme coordinator, he expressed his hope that everybody would work together in making the event a success.
Meanwhile, SK Agama Sibu headmaster Saidal Mat commended the PTA for its commitment in helping the school with regard to its future developments and also the welfare of the pupils.
On the sale of tables for the charity dinner this April 14, Mohd Safree said 30 tables would go for RM1,000 each, while another 55 would be priced at RM800 each.
According to him, so far 23 tables under the RM1,000 package have been taken up while for the RM800 package, 18 tables have been sold. Reservations are still open.
