GES Global to hold education fair in four towns starting today
SIBU: GES Global Educational Services ( M) Sdn Bhd will be providing information on higher education opportunities in four major towns over four days, starting today.
The education fair will kick off at Promenade Hotel in Bintulu on March 15 from 2pm to 6pm before going to Miri the next day at Pullman Hotel, also from 2pm to 6pm.
On March 17, the fair will be at RH Hotel in Sibu from 2pm to 6pm. The last stop will be Kuching at Pullman Hotel from 2pm to 6pm on March 18.
A spokesman for the organiser said GES Global has more than a decade of experience and is bringing quality tertiary institutions from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Switzerland, as well as private tertiary institutions from Malaysia, for the fair.
For the upcoming fair, the spokesman said Kaplan and Study Group are part of the exhibitors.
Kaplan is a global private education company which has helped more than 1,000,000 students over 30 countries for 77 years.
Some of the Kaplan’s university partners in Australia are the University of Adelaide College ( UOAC) and Murdoch Institute of Technology (MIT).
The spokesman said UOAC is a preferred pathway to the University of Adelaide – one of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight. As Australia’s third oldest university, it has a well-established reputation for excellence and progressive thinking. The university is proudly ranked in the top one per cent in the world.
He said the college provides an engaging, caring and academically stimulating environment to prepare students for a smooth transition to the University of Adelaide.
“All students here are part of the University of Adelaide and have access to all the university’s facilities and resources, with the syllabi designed with support from the University of Adelaide.

For Degree Transfer Programmes, he said the college offers Business, Science/ Heath Science, Engineering and Computer Science.
On Murdoch Institute of Technology, he said MIT provides students with the academic foundation required for undergraduate studies at Murdoch University. The advantages of studying there include a direct entry pathway through a variety programmes.
“The experienced and qualified academics give specialised guidance to smaller class sizes. MIT students also have access to a range of the university’s academic and recreational activities. Pathway to success in MIT include Murdoch University Preparation Course ( MUPC), Diploma and English Language course,” he said.
For Curtin College, he said it was one of Navitas’ university partners in Australia.
“Since 2000, Curtin College has established itself as the major pathway to Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, giving students access to much of Curtin’s extensive range of resources and facilities,” he said.
The college had produced over 8,000 students who had successfully progressed to the second year of a bachelor’s degree at the university.
Students graduate with a recognised higher education diploma qualification and gain entry into the second year of their chosen undergraduate study at Curtin University.
“Fast- track options are available, with the trimester system offering three intakes per year.”
He said smaller class sizes and a range of courses support services to prepare students for university studies.
