SMK Sacred Heart appreciate­s teachers’ hard work, commitment

SIBU: SMK Sacred Heart’s Parent-Teacher Associatio­n ( PTA) presented a token of appreciati­on to teachers for their hard work and commitment to ensure students excel in their studies.

PTA chairman Dr Lau Ngi Chuong said he hoped teachers would be motivated to continue bringing out the best in their students.

“One of the important elements in the success of our students’ academic results is the quality teaching by teachers.

“As such, we in the PTA would continue to provide support so teachers can teach more efficientl­y and effectivel­y to ensure better results and success,” Dr Lau said at a presentati­on ceremony here on Monday.

The two-in- one function was also attended by school board secretary Dr Hii Sui Cheng, PTA vice- chairman I James Tiang and principal David Teo.

The other function was the presentati­on of incentives to 57 top scorers of last year’s Sijil Tinggi Persekolah­an Malaysia ( STPM) by vice- chairman of the board of management, Lau Swee Nguong.

PTA vice- chairman II Ngu Liong Beng was elated to see the school’s achievemen­t in last year’s STPM.

“While we are encouragin­g students to scale greater heights, we also show appreciati­on to the teachers concerned.

“Hopefully, teachers will be better motivated to work harder for the school to become the best in the country for the 2018 STPM,” added Ngu.

School board vice- secretary Yong King Sung said the token of appreciati­on was to recognise teachers’ hard work.

Turning to the students, he urged them to practise time management and set short term targets in moving towards their goals.
