Talk to focus on prostate cancer and men’s health
MIRI: Miri Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) and CanHope Kuching will hold a community health awareness talk by doctors from Singapore on April 14 at Imperial Palace Hotel from 1pm.
Parkway Cancer Centre specialist in Medical Oncology Dr Zee Ying Kiat will share on ‘What you need to know about Prostate Cancer’, while Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital urologist Dr Lewis Liew Choon How will speak on ‘ Men’s Health and Robotic Surgery’.
Prior to his current practice, Dr Zee was a consultant medical oncologist at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore ( NCIS), where he conducted clinical and translational research as principal or co-investigator in local and international trails involving novel targeted therapies for colorectal, gastric, liver and pancreatic cancers.
In addition to general medical oncology, Dr Zee has a special interest in gastro- oesophageal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic and colorectal cancers.
Dr Liew’s clinical expertise involves the screening, prevention and treatment of urological problems for men and women.
Treatments include open and laparoscopic ( keyhole) surgery of urinary tract system and male reproductive system, and male ageing treatment.
He has performed various laparoscopic urological surgeries, such as laparoscopic prostate, kidney, bladder and ureter surgery.

On April 15, Dr Zee and Dr Liew will attend the CME Doctors’ Lunch Networking organised by CanHope Kuching and the Malaysian Medical Association Sarawak.
Dr Zee will share on ‘Common Cancers: Prevention, Screening and Treatment’, while Dr Liew will share on ‘Robotic and Kidney Transplants, What’s New?’
