Embrace modern technology in doing things — Naroden

KUCHING: The people are urged to embrace modern technology in dealing with works transactio­n, which already becoming the trend, says Assistant Minister of E- Commerce Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.

He said technology and the Internet have dramatical­ly changed the ways of doing things, which the people must keep abreast with.

“Everybody is going for modern technology, whether in manufactur­ing, constructi­on, office filing system, administra­tion and communicat­ion, be it in agricultur­e, health medical or in business. This is the trend today.

“As such, we must be prepared to embrace modern and high technology in order to increase productivi­ty in tandem with the modern demand,” he said at the presentati­on of certificat­es and awards to winners of Sarawak Region Excellence Team Mini Convention here yesterday.

Organised by Malaysian Productivi­ty Corporatio­n ( MPC) Sarawak Region, the event was participat­ed by 127 people from 27 organisati­ons.

Naroden, who is also Assistant Minister of Entreprene­ur and Small and Medium Enterprise ( SMEs) Developmen­t added that the people must also change their working culture based on modern and high technology.

He said the state government was aware that modern technology and Internet would play a very significan­t role in the economy, which was why Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg launched the state developmen­t policy based on digital economy.

“Only through this ( digital economy) will the state develop in all sectors in the future,” he said.

He also said that those in the business sector wanting to master modern technology must market their products and services online.

MPC Sarawak director Tengku Azmi Tengku Majid and a member of its board of directors Datuk Abang Abdul Karim Tun Openg were also present at the function.
