‘EC fixed polling date, not BN’

-

KUCHING: The Barisan Nasional ( BN) did not fi x the date for the general election but the Election Commission ( EC) did, says Assistant Minister of Corporate Affairs Abdullah Saidol.

Democracy did not only survive on weekends, he said when reacting to state Democratic Action Party ( DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen’s comment that May 9 (weekday) would be unfair for certain voters.

“DAP spends every day playing politics, and not serve the people, so they should be well prepared to face the election and the people anytime of the year.

“If they think the polling date is not in their favour, likewise it will also affect BN too.

“If DAP can mobilise so many Bersih supporters, they should not have any problem mobilising their supporters any time, any place.

“The election is a level-playing field. People who care about their future and well-being will go out to exercise their constitutional rights,” he said, adding that it would be up to the people which party they trust to administer the country.

The party with the track record and has consistently shown enthusiasm and courage to bring the country forward will earn the people’s trust and vote, he added.

“Chong is obviously jittery. Instead of going out there convincing the people to vote for them like in any democratic practice when facing election, Chong is busy looking for excuses and start making wicked allegations,” Abdullah said.

DAP and their Pakatan Harapan ( PH) partners have nothing much to offer except for fake hope and promises which they have no clue how to ful fill, Abdullah claimed.

“PH and DAP’s pol it ical philosophy is all about bluffi ng for the sake of running down the government in order to be in power.”

DAP and PKR were given the trust by the people of Penang and Selangor but they can’t even manage those states properly. How do you expect them to govern a nation, he asked.

“Look at those they ( PH) are putting up to lead this nation. Their leaders are frail, disillusion and selfi sh. Believing that those PH leaders will bring changes and better deal must be insane,” he added.

Malaysians will not only vote to secure a better deal from BN but also vote to show their outrage against PH for their mischievous and unscrupulous pol itical practices, he said.
