Kenneth Ma jokes about hoping to take on role as gynaecologist

-

HONG KONG: Actor Kenneth Ma, who had portrayed a neurosurgeon in The Hippocratic Crush, has joked that he now hopes to play a gynaecologist.

Asked about his dream role, Kenneth laughed and said: “Of course a gynaecologist; there are more pretty girls to look at. Our drama ( Big White Duel) has a lot of pretty cast members, such as Ali Li and Kelly Cheung. The producer gave us two women each: Roger is paired with Natalie Tong and Kelly Cheung, and he has the most passionate scenes in the drama.”

The main cast members were present for the blessing ceremony for the series. Scenes had been filmed inside an emergency centre at a local hospital.

Doctors were on hand to make sure that the procedures being demonstrated were authentic.

In the series, Kenneth and Ali are pulmonologists, and many of their scenes were filmed in the emergency room.

On whether it was a challenging role, a smiling Ali said: “I realise I’m more afraid of my own blood and not others. We already filmed so many scenes with blood already.”

On whether he gets cosy with Kelly, Roger said, “No, they’re all cut. Let’s wait for the film version. Our scenes together in the drama are not explicit; they are rational.”

Roger portrays a brain surgeon. He admitted it was challenging because his lines are full of medical jargon.

Added Roger: “The lines are longer than that of portraying a lawyer. I would go home and memorise my lines as I’m afraid of keeping everyone overtime at work. After I say them, I’ll ask Kelly if I pronounced the words right. So if I make any mistakes, you can blame her.”
