‘Juh Sungkei di BCCK’ Ramadan Buffet now on until June 12
KUCHING: The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching ( BCCK), renowned for serving one of the best Iftar buffets here, has attracted more than 4,500 diners over the past five days to its ‘Juh Sungkei di BCCK’ Ramadan Buffet.
According to a press statement, the culinary team, under the direction of its executive chef Desmond Antony, has been on the ground since the Ramadan buffet was rolled out on May 18.
More than 150 varieties of ‘Buka Puasa’ dishes comprising a spread of local and international specialties presented in ‘kampungstyle’ stalls and live cooking stations will be served starting from 6.30pm onwards from now until June 12.
Among the dishes not to be missed include whole roasted lamb, poached prawns and mussels, chicken shawarma, Sarawak laksa, sup tulang soto, wholesome signature bubur lambuk meat or seafood (rice porridge), Korea kimchi and chicken stew, Japan shabu shabu, bakso from Indonesia, Spanish paella rice with assorted seafood and many more.
Those who are looking to satisfy their sweet tooth can look forward to a fondue or chocolate fountain with a variety of dippers, icecream in various flavours topped with condiments of their choice and assortment of cookies and cakes.
Meanwhile, BCCK is also running its corporate social responsibility ( CSR) activity this holy month through a book donation campaign for children residing at ‘Rumah Kanak-Kanak Batu 12’.
Its chief executive officer Eric Van Piggelen said: “We want to inculcate reading habit among children as reading broadens a child’s mind and it is also a skill required for lifelong success.”
Members of the public are welcome to donate new or used books which are suitable for children ages three to 18.
The donation drop box is located at BCCK Concourse A, Level 2. Those who are at the convention centre between now and June 12 are welcome to drop their books here.
