IPOH: A government retiree yesterday lodged a police report against Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman claiming that he had abused his powers when chairman of Felcra Bhd from 2008-2014.

Mohamad Maharani Md Tasi claimed that the former Agriculture and Agro-based Minister had also used Felcra money when campaigning in the 13th general election in 2013.

“All bills for feasts at his ( Tajuddin’s ) residence used funds from Felcra Changkat Lada so much so Felcra failed to give better dividends to its participants.

“Three Felcra oil palm mills were also sold at below market price apart from a cattle rearing project that was stolen from Felcra before the big floods that hit Felcra Seberang Perak in 2014 and 2015,” he told reporters after lodging the police report at the Ipoh police headquarters here yesterday.

He added that there were many other cases of alleged abuse by Tajuddin and urged police and the Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission to get to the bottom of the matter.

Mohamad Maharani was also PKR’s candidate for the Sungai Manik state seat in the 14th general election (GE14) on May 9 but lost.

Tajuddin defended his Pasir Salak parliamentary seat in GE14.

He defeated PKR’s Salihuddin Radin Sumadi and Zafarulazhan Zan of PAS by a majority of 7,212 votes.

Ipoh police chief ACP Mohd Ali Tamby confirmed receiving the report and said that it would be referred to the Perak Tengah police headquarters for further action.

Meanwhile, in Pasir Salak, participants of Badan Blok B Felcra Seberang Perak lodged a police report against the former chairman of its cooperative Mohamad Maharani Md Tasi, who had lodged the police report against Tajuddin in Ipoh, claiming that he ( Mohamad Maharani) had committed criminal breach of trust.

Mohd Razali Yahya, 39, representing the 113 participants, lodged the report at noon at the Kampong Gajah police station and urged police to leave no stone unturned in investigating the case.
