Julaihi: Continuous state, federal ties vital for people’s welfare

-

KUCHING: Assistant Minister of Coastal Road Datuk Julaihi Narawi hopes that the relationship between the state and federal governments would continue for the benefit of the people.

He regards the continuous ties between the two sides as ‘crucial’ in terms of the welfare of Sarawakians.

“It is hoped that the relationship between the state and new federal governments would continue like that of the previous government.

“It is also hoped that the approved projects in the state would be given consideration to be continued for the sake of the people,” he said before presenting government grants to 23 local organisations in Sebuyau recently, where he also joined the Muslims there for ‘buka puasa’ (break-of-fast).

Julaihi, who is Sebuyau assemblyman, also stressed that the Batang Lupar bridge ought to be carried out for the benefit of the people living in the state’s rural and coastal areas.

He added that although the state is still under Barisan Nasional ( BN)-led government under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, the relationship between the state and federal governments ‘remains important’.

“The people have made their choice (in the 14th general election), and we respect this choice – both at federal and state level,” he said.

State administrative officer for Sebuyau Sub-district, Ajis Ahmad, was also present at the event.
