IKIMfm to air special Raya programmes

KUALA LUMPUR: IKIMfm, the radio station of the Institute of Islamic Understand­ing Malaysia ( IKIM), will be airing special programmes in appreciati­on of its loyal listeners in conjunctio­n with the upcoming Hari Raya celebratio­n.

IKIM media centre’s acting director, Mahathir Shaharuddi­n said IKIMfm had strived to provide shows that were entertaini­ng as well as scholarly, inspiratio­nal and spiritual.

“With the theme ‘Fitrah Aidilfitri’ this year, IKIMfm is persuading its listeners to understand and appreciate the meaning of Aidilfitri that would bring one back to their ‘ fitrah’ (natural tendency) after experienci­ng Ramadan.

“Seventeen special programmes have been lined up from as early as 6.30 am on the first day of Hari Raya through the ‘Tafsir al-Quran Khas Aidilfitri’ production,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

Other programmes to be aired include live telecast of Aidilfitri prayers, IKIM chairman and director- general’s message in conjunctio­n with Hari Raya, a documentar­y on Aidilfitri celebratio­ns in prison, a travelogue and a religious talk on Aidilfitri.
