DAP branches raise RM45,000 for Tabung Harapan
SIBU: DAP Sibu and Sungai Merah branches have raised about RM45,000 for the Hope Fund ( Tabung Harapan) through their fund-raisers fair, and will continue with the effort to reach their target of RM50,000.
Organiser Amy Lau said the initial target was RM30,000 and owing to the overwhelming response they have raised the target to RM50,000.
She told a press conference yesterday that the fund-raisers fair will next be held at Rejang Park Commercial Centre on June 17 from 7am till noon.
“Coupons at RM10, RM50, and RM100 are available for `sale’, and these coupons may be used to redeem food and beverages, dried products, eggs and household items.
“We welcome everyone to come and make that morning a ` family day’ kind of occasion,” she enthused, saying there will be a number of fun activities.
“We’ll hold a simple opening ceremony at 9am,” she disclosed.
Lau said donations of hard cash will also be accepted and assured the donors that the money will all go to the Hope Fund.
With Lau at the press conference were Sibu MP Oscar Ling and Lanang MP Alice Lau.
