DAP branches raise RM45,000 for Tabung Hara­pan

SIBU: DAP Sibu and Sun­gai Merah branches have raised about RM45,000 for the Hope Fund ( Tabung Hara­pan) through their fund-rais­ers fair, and will con­tinue with the ef­fort to reach their tar­get of RM50,000.

Or­gan­iser Amy Lau said the ini­tial tar­get was RM30,000 and owing to the over­whelm­ing re­sponse they have raised the tar­get to RM50,000.

She told a press con­fer­ence yes­ter­day that the fund-rais­ers fair will next be held at Re­jang Park Com­mer­cial Cen­tre on June 17 from 7am till noon.

“Coupons at RM10, RM50, and RM100 are avail­able for `sale’, and these coupons may be used to redeem food and bev­er­ages, dried prod­ucts, eggs and house­hold items.

“We wel­come every­one to come and make that morn­ing a ` fam­ily day’ kind of oc­ca­sion,” she en­thused, say­ing there will be a num­ber of fun ac­tiv­i­ties.

“We’ll hold a sim­ple open­ing cer­e­mony at 9am,” she dis­closed.

Lau said dona­tions of hard cash will also be ac­cepted and as­sured the donors that the money will all go to the Hope Fund.
