OUM Miri centre prepares, distributes ‘bubur lambuk’
MIRI: Open University Malaysia ( OUM) Miri Learning Centre held a CSR programme to distribute ‘bubur lambuk’ to the public at its centre here recently.
Its director Zuliana Muktar said the activity involved staff, student clubs and students of OUM Miri. A total of 200 packs of porridge were distributed to the public within an hour.
“This activity aimed at celebrating the month of Ramadan as well as maintaining relationship between staff, students and the public.
“This is the first time we cooked porridge at OUM Miri and it was cooked by our staff and the students themselves,” she said in a statement yesterday.
The university also held a breaking of fast and ‘ tarawikh’ prayers which were attended by 50 people including residents of Kampung Riam Jaya near here.
“The month of Ramadan enables us to experience what the disadvantaged people are experiencing where they have to endure hunger and thirst.
“Therefore, we need to be grateful for the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us,” she said.
