26-year-old man arrested, drugs worth RM330,000 seized from apartment
KUCHING: The State Narcotics Crime Investigation Department ( NCID) has arrested a 26-year- old man after drugs were found in his apartment in Batu Kawa here.
Prior to the arrest, the police found Syabu weighing 535 grams worth around RM80,250 and 4,980 Ecstacy pills worth around RM249,000 in the apartment.
According to NCID head Supt Sahar Abdul Latif, the NCID team ambushed the suspect at the compound of the apartment’s carpark and was later led to the apartment where the drugs were found.
“The suspect was also found to be without any police record,” said Sahar in a statement yesterday.
He added that the suspect however tested positive for Methamphetamine.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Police also seized a car estimated to cost around RM60,000, three gold rings and cash totalling RM4,037 belonging to the suspect.
