Society to hold presentation on book featuring Miri

MIRI: The Society of Sarawakians Writing in English ( Soswe) will hold a presentation on the book ‘ Miri – Then and Now’ on July 3 at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak Miri.

It will be held at the library’s AV Room at 2.30pm.

The 73- page book covers new landmarks, historical sites, information for food hunts, as well as articles covering Miri’s past and present.

“The book was published and written to provide information to the community, especially the younger generation on how Miri has evolved over the years. The writers will hand over five copies of the book to Pustaka Miri as a legal deposit requirement stated under the Sarawak State Library Ordinance (SSLO) 1999,” said a press release yesterday.

The book was launched on May 25 by Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting and Miri Mayor Adam Yii.
