Members of the public interested in public speaking or leadership skills are welcome to join the meeting.

A typical Toastmasters meeting will have members giving prepared speeches where evaluation as well as feedback will be provided to encourage speakers to improve further.

There will be an impromptu speaking session, known as Table Topics, which allows participants to speak for 1-2 minutes based on the topics given.

Chai thus encouraged members to actively participate in the upcoming meeting themed ‘ The Power of We’.

“Teamwork spirit is a big thing in Toastmasters. Club gets stronger when teamwork is practised. ‘ The Power of We’ also indicates that ‘ together everyone achieve more (TEAM)’,” he added.

Toastmaster of the Evening (TME) or the emcee of the coming meeting is Toastmaster Emily Bong, who is a committed and passionate speaker.

Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organisation which provides a platform for members’ training on public speaking, effective communication and leadership skills.

The club aims to nurture competent speakers through completed speech manuals with constructive feedback and evaluation from club members in an uplifting and positive environment.

The door fee to join the meeting is RM10 per person inclusive of light refreshment.
