BSN may put more staff at some branches

-

BANK Simpanan Nasional (BSN) will study and consider adding more staff at suitable locations in Sarawak for the benefit of the rural folk.

Assistant Minister of Corporate Affairs Abdullah Saidol said the bank had given the assurance that they were committed to adding more employees and improving their services.

“This is to provide a better service not only at its branch in Serian but also at other critical locations in the rural areas.

“BSN is not directly under the administration of the government but nevertheless, the monitoring of matters concerning services and the well-being of the people is an immediate consideration,” he said in response to a question from John Ilus (PBB-Bukit Semuja) yesterday.

To a question concerning the establishment an integrated centre for services in rural areas, Abdullah said this too was also a consideration of all elected representatives in the rural areas.

He said this applied to areas that depended much on BSN and post offices to make payment and so on.“There is no specific plan now to construct an integrated centre for BSN and post office,” he said.

He, however, said a post office service had been planned to provide services to rural areas through an integrated service counter.

“This will provide convenience to the rural folk to obtain the best services from these two agencies.”
