PTNS sends four for new poomsae course

KUCHING: Four coaches and athletes from Persatuan Taekwondo Negeri Sarawak ( PTNS) - Kong Chee Sing, Leslie Kong Chie Yong, Emmanuel Jose BumaandTer­enceMa-successful­ly completed the new taekwondo ( WT) poomsae coaching training course at National Sports Council of Malaysia Gymnasium, Kuala Lumpur last weekend.

“Sending our coaches for such programmes is an essential aspect of building up the state associatio­n and grooming our technical crew,” said Tan Check Joon, Coaching Board Taekwondo Malaysia (WTF) cum State Technical chairman.

“We are constantly looking at ways of streamlini­ng our state associatio­n to ensure that we are operating as effectivel­y as possible and can provide the best possible opportunit­y to our coaches, our athletes and our members who are eligible to take part in recognised events such as Sukan Malaysia (Sukma), SEA, Asian and Olympic Games, just to name a few,” he added.

Meanwhi le, PTNS ( WTF) president Azizul Annuar Adenan said the associatio­n wants to train as many new young qualified instructor­s and developmen­t coaches as possible in two years time.

“We undoubtedl­y support our young and aspiring potentials in Sarawak and provide them recognised education and training they need to compete at the high level major competitio­n and tournament­s,” he said.

He also invited educationa­l institutio­ns and parents to send their young to be developed by PTNS ( WTF).

“We are recognized and practise the world governing body World Taekwondo ( WT) rules and movement. Thus, we would like to extend our invitation to all schools, colleges, universiti­es and parents.

“Give your students and children an opportunit­y and encourage them to take up the sport of taekwondo ( WT) with the recognized governing body and qualified technical crew,” he urged.
