-

KUCHING: The Land and Survey Department Sarawak on Tuesday (July 24) reached an agreement with 18 Sarawak and federal agencies on policies and working procedures relating to the sale of rock and mineral materials outside of Sarawak.

State Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani officiated at the ceremony in which all the agencies involved were present.

A press release yesterday said the policies and working procedures to make the process of selling rock and mineral materials outside of Sarawak more systematic, effective, and efficient will be enforced starting Aug 1.

In addition, the department emphasised that it will also help in controlling the exploitation of natural resources which damage the environment, while maintaining sufficient natural resources for future generations.

The policies and working procedures were developed under the Key Focus Activity ( KFA) project, which was one of the initiatives under the eight critical areas of the State Public Service Action Plan 2010- 2020 ( SCS 10- 20 Action Plan) that aims to transform Sarawak’s civil service to achieve the government’s vision of ‘A World Class Civil Service’.

The SCS 10- 20 Action Plan, which is the brainchild of the State Secretary, has achieved much success in enhancing the quality of the Sarawak civil service.
