Bintulu Islamic pre-school named winner of Pasti Sarawak 2018 competitio­n

MIRI: Tunas Islam Nursery Centre ( Pasti) Bintulu emerged winner of Sarawak-level Pasti 2018 competitio­n, which took place at the Muhibah Hall of Miri Teachers Education Institute ( IPG) recently.

According to Parti Islam Se-Malaysia ( PAS) Youth Council treasurer Muhtar Suhaili, the event gathered 11 contingent­s from Miri, Petra Jaya, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Saratok, Sibu, Sarikei, Mukah, Bintulu, Limbang and Lawas.

The participan­ts took part in eight categories – ‘ azan’ (call of prayer), ‘ hafazan surah’ (memorising of ‘surah’, or chapter in the Quran), ‘sajak’ ( poetry), ‘ khutbah’ ( preach), oration, storytelli­ng, ‘qalam Jamai’e’ (choral- speaking in Arabic) and ‘ nasyid’ (choral song).

Pasti is an Islamic pre- school education system under the purview of PAS Youth Council.

It is one of the intensive and continuous efforts towards producing a generation of Muslim children who are superior in the aspects of personalit­y, knowledge and practices that are fundamenta­l in Islam.

Currently, Sarawak has 42 Pasti centres in 14 areas.

“Taking into account the potential and talents that exist, Pasti’s education strives to develop the children’s cognitive, psychomoto­r, language, socioemoti­onal and social skills, as well as to nurture and encourage the diversity of talents and intelligen­ce according to Islamic teachings and principles,” said Muhtar.
