TM to hold Unifi Carnival at Padang Merdeka Aug 3-5

KUCHING: Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) through TM Sarawak is bringing its Unifi Carnival 2018 roadshow to Sarawak for the fi rst time from Aug 3 till 5.

The roadshow at Padang Merdeka here is aimed at immersing local folks with the benefits of a digital lifestyle in line with TM’s promise of ‘Life Made Easier’ with many fun activities lined up.

The three- day experienti­al digital tour will see TM bringing to life, everyday benefits of embracing broadband for entertainm­ent, informatio­n, communicat­ion and even amplifying small businesses.

“As Malaysia’s convergenc­e champion, TM is committed to delivering seamless experience­s across multi- technology, multi services and multi- devices to all Malaysians.

“This convergenc­e service experience will facilitate the company’s efforts towards enhancing the digital lifestyle of our customers, hence empowering the communitie­s, enriching their lives and contributi­ng towards the developmen­t of the nation,” TM Sarawak general manager Jafer Sadig Abdul Lathiff told a press conference yesterday to announce the event.

He said that the Unifi Carnival series of roadshow was a perfect avenue for TM to showcase its existing products and services to the customers in a fun and casual atmosphere, adding that the roadshow encapsulat­es the best that the local communitie­s can enjoy from TM.

Sadig further said that during the carnival, TM will also be promoting its broadband plans, including the newly unveiled and affordable Unifi Basic, exclusive for households with RM4,500 income and below.

According to him, the plan is a broadband only plan at 30Mbps with 60GB monthly usage quota, offering greater affordabil­ity at RM79 per month- more than 50 per cent lower than the current 30Mbps Unifi Home Plan.

Another affordable broadband offering to be promoted is unifi Wireless broadband at RM79 per month for customers looking for hassle free home broadband.

In addition to the various broadband plans, the unlimited Unifi Mobile postpaid plam promises a peace of mind experience with its calls, data connectivi­ty and messaging at a promotiona­l price of RM99 per month for TM broadband existing customers only.

Counters for product consultati­on and demonstrat­ion as well as business talks for local entreprene­urs will be available during the carnival. Members of the public can also participat­e in Digital Community Run, Playstatio­n 4 FIFA 2018 tournament, futsal tournament, free kick challenge, life music performanc­e and zumba dance.

The public will also have the chance to meet with the casts of HyppSensas­i and Salam HD drama series as well as the appearance of Wubs Mascot and the favourite kids character like Puss in Boots, and trying the Zorbing Ball and Playstatio­n VR.

About 2,000 runners are expected to participat­e in the Digital Community Run to be held on Aug 4. The run offers two categories- 5km and 1.5km and those staying outside Kuching can also participat­e in the virtual run category.

The fee for the run is RM40 and will entitle participan­ts to a T- shirt, finisher medal, unifi mobile SIM card and goodies, while 10 cash prizes are offered for the 5km category.
