Seth Rogen to offer tips and transit etiquette to Vancouver commuters
SETH Rogen is the new voice of Vancouver transit.
What started as a joke has come full circle, with the Vancouver native and Hollywood funnyman lending his voice to the city’s public transportation system TransLink.
In May, the city pulled a public announcement campaign that was voiced by Morgan Freeman following allegations of sexual assault. News that Freeman was to voice the campaign had prompted Vancouver Sun reporter Stephanie Ip to tweet a shout-out to @ SethRogen on Twitter, suggesting he voice the campaign instead.
Rogen bit, tweeting back, “Yo if they need a replacement now let me know.”
To which TransLink replied: “Thanks for the offer Seth. Let’s DM and talk.”
On Thursday, two months after the casual exchange, Rogen posted a video to his 7.59 million followers on Twitter, revealing that the deal has been sealed.
“I’M GONNA BE THE VOICE ON PUBLIC TRANSIT IN MY HOMETOWN OF VANCOUVER,” reads the shouty Twitter announcement.
“I’m from Vancouver, British Columbia, I’m very proud to be from Vancouver and I grew up taking public transit my whole life and I still use public transit when I’m in the city,” he says in the Twitter video.
Rogen’s announcements will roll out in the coming weeks stretching into autumn and include etiquette reminders, tips and information on the TransLink system for Vancouver commuters. — Relaxnews
