Driver killed after car goes out of control and overturns
KUCHING: A local man was killed after his car overturned at Mile 21, off Kuching- Serian Road early yesterday morning.
The deceased, identified as Nicholas Jimbai Khoo, 34, was travelling alone when the incident happened around 4.15am.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the single-vehicle crash occurred when the victim was making his way back to his house at Kampung Sungai Resit, Mile 24, off Kuching- Serian Road.
“Initial investigation indicates his vehicle went out of control before overturning onto its roof on the right side of the road,” he said when contacted.
He said the victim was pronounced dead by medical personnel and later transported to Sarawak General Hospital for a postmortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
