BINTULU: The launching of Bintulu Development Authority’s ( BDA) anti-litter campaign by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at Kampung Jepak around 9am yesterday highlighted the significance of the campaign to keep the town clean.

The campaign is the highlight of a series of ongoing anti-litter programmes organised by BDA.

“I would like to congratulate BDA for organising this event to make Bintulu a clean town,” said Abang Johari after officiating at the launching ceremony before rushing to Bintulu Airport as he needed to attend another function in Matu.

The first anti-litter programme here on January 8 this year attracted thousands of participants.

The objective of the campaign is to create awareness on the importance of keeping Bintulu clean to make it a healthy town to live in.

Keeping the town clean is not merely the responsibility of BDA but requires team work between BDA, government agencies, departments, school children, business community, political parties and the public.

Also present at the event were Abang Johari’s wife Datin Patinggi Dato Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip, Bintulu Resident Jack Aman Luat, BDA general manager Rodziah Morshidi, Penghulu Drahman Kawi, BDA staff and members of the local community.

I would like to congratulate BDA for organising this event to make Bintulu a clean town. Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, Chief Minister
