Local company sponsors steel bridge leading to disabled man’s house in Beratok

KUCHING: Fook Lai Construction & Development Sdn Bhd recently aided a disabled man by constructing a steel bridge leading to his house in Beratok.

The company decided to sponsor the structure after reading about the plight of Lai Shoon Choi, 64, that was highlighted in the media by Hope Place Kuching.

Lai lives in a house without water and electricity supply together with his primary schoolaged son.

His wife passed away from cancer a few months ago.

To get to his house, one needs to walk about 15 minutes along a muddy path and two bamboo bridges which were in need of repair.
