-

SIBU: Women here, including those from the younger group, are urged to join Inner Wheel Club to help create a better society.

Inner Wheel District 331 chairperson Datuk Nancy Ho when making the call at a press conference here yesterday said: “It’s my biggest vision and mission to see more women working together in nation-building through our organization.”

“The theme of our organization this year is ‘Empower and Evolve’. We hope we can all be exemplary to our youths in serving the people in need,” she added.

Ho noted that the local chapter of the Inner Wheel Club has been active and enjoyed great fellowship with the people.

She promised more training programmes would be organised for club members this year and at the same time reminded them of the three big objectives of the organization namely personal service, true friendship and international understanding.

The organization focuses on programmes such as anti- drug effort, health, domestic violence, environmental and others when rolling out its activities.

Ho said during her two terms helming the International Inner Wheel board of directors, she has learned a lot about the needs of people in different countries.

“I got to know in depth the cultures in different countries,” she added.

She said her vision in life is to help whoever she can assist, giving them a better vision of their future.

“I help people to do better in their lives and contribute to society,” she enthused.

Ho is currently visiting the Inner Wheel clubs in Sarawak.

While here, she visited the Sibu Benevolent Society and Sibu Agape Centre. After Sibu, she will proceed to Kuching and then Miri.

With her at the press conference were Sibu Inner Wheel Club president Joan Lau, past district chairpersons Alice Wong and Datin Lau Dai Hee, past presidents Datin Sri Pauline Wong, Datin Tiong Wee Huong and Angela Wong.
