14 experts to speak on the ‘power of tomorrow’ at CEPSI 2018

KUALA LUMPUR: The Conference of Electric Power Supply Industry ( CEPSI 2018), to be hosted by Tenaga Nasional Berhad ( TNB) in Kuala Lumpur next month, will gather 14 thought leaders who will share their wealth of knowledge related to the electricit­y industry.

In a statement, TNB said the experts would, among other things, discuss and share best practices on key topics like global trends and shifts, future utility, sustainabi­lity, innovation, digitalisa­tion, mega trends and a smarter future for the industry.

They are Ken Koyama, chief economist and managing director of Institute of Energy Economics, Japan (IEEJ); Lara Olsen, regional manager, business developmen­t of Tesla Energy Asia Pacific; Dr Hiroshi Okamoto, executive vicepresid­ent of TEPCO Power Grid Inc; Dr Jonathan Woetzel, senior partner of McKinsey & Company; Dr Alexander Kotouc, head of product management of BMW i; and Venu Nuguri, senior group vice-president of ABB Group’s Power Grids Division, South Asia, Middle East and Africa; and Paul Scanlan, chief technology officer of Huawei Technologi­es Co Ltd.

The other speakers would also include Indranil Lahiri, president and chief executive of Siemens Malaysia; and Sharbini Suhaili, group chief executive officer of Sarawak Energy.

TNB is hosting the biennial event on behalf of the Associatio­n of the Electricit­y Supply Industry of East Asia and Western Pacific (AESIEAP). The last time TNB hosted CEPSI was in 1996. — Bernama
