GEORGE TOWN: The presence of so many people at the launching ceremony of the nationallevel ‘ Independence Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2018’ here on Saturday night, proved that everybody wanted positive things for Malaysia, said Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

He said all Malaysians that night were united and expressed their feeling of love for the country.

“I am very happy with the support and I feel we can see how in Malaysia, we can all have similarities especially in terms of the love for the country – we all want positive things for our nation,” he told reporters here.

Earlier, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad officiated at the ceremony on Padang Kota Lama here.

Gobind Singh said the organising of the launch on Saturday night was regarded as being the ‘ most successful’ because it was attended by many people of various races.

“I feel tonight was very successful and I call upon Malaysians to fly the Jalur Gemilang – we will meet in Putrajaya on Aug 31,” he said.
