Helpful brother steals limelight in bodybuilding contest
KUCHING: Police lance corporal Mohd Hafizul Tuah, who is attached with IPD Hilir in Perak, was back in town to help his brother prepare for the 5th Mr Boulevard and Mr BBS Bodybuilding & Physique Competition. While the brother did well enough to finish second in the Athletic Physique Under170cm, Hafizul ran off with the Champion of Champions title on Saturday night!
“Actually I was training my brother Mohd Shabli who was about to take part in the competition for the first time. I did not plan to take part but due to encouragement from friends and support from family that I decided to take part,” he told the media.
Before carrying off the main title he had won the Above-70kg bodybuilding category first. Huang Chee Yan and Lansconnery Ripit were second and third respectively.
The 29-year- old is currently preparing to represent the Royal Malaysia Police in the Mr Malaysia 2018 Championships which will take place in Melaka from Aug 17-19.
To cap it all, it was the first time he won a title in his hometown.
Meanwhile, top three in the Under-70kg category were Joseph Ladi, Raynar Jamis and Anthony Tebie Rapheal.
The first three positions in the Athletic Physique Under-170cm went to Abang Ahmad Agus Khalil Abang Ibrahim, Mohd Shabli Tuah and Daryl Aaron Bawood.
The Above-170cm champion was Muhamad Azri Nazaruddin followed by Arif Azhan Mohamad Ghazal i and Abdul Ramzi Bujang.
The event, which was held as part of Boulevard Shopping Mall’s annual ‘Health Week’ campaign, attracted 37 contestants.
It was officiated by Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Dr Sim KuiH ian. Also present were Sarawak Bodybuilding Association president Dato Wee Hong Seng, Boulevard Shopping Mal l marketing and events manager Chin Sze King and Borneo Bodybuilding Supplement director Adrian Wong.
