Woman suffers losses of over RM5,000 in house break-in

MIRI: A woman in her 30s suffered losses of more than RM5,000 after her house in Kampung Lusut, Lambir here was broken into on Saturday night.

The victim however only realised the incident when she returned home on Sunday afternoon.

She was shocked upon seeing her house in a mess with most of her valuables stolen.

The thieves escaped with a television, two units of gas cylinders, a pair of branded shoe, Iban traditiona­l attire, a stroller, a stand fan, coins from her piggy bank amounting to about RM500 and food from the kitchen which includes two 10kg rice bags, Milo, Nescafe and instant noodles.

The thieves also stole clothes from the house.

It is learnt that the victim does not live in the house as she is working in Bekenu. She only comes home during the weekends.

The woman has lodged a police report on the incident.
