Woman unhurt as car catches fire
LAWAS: A woman managed to avoid injury after her car burst into flames at a commercial centre here yesterday morning.
The 32-year-old had gone to a shoplot to buy groceries around 7.40am, and had just stepped out of her vehicle when flames appeared from under the bonnet.
Fire and Rescue Department ( Bomba) Lawas chief Zaki Husin said the woman immediately contacted the department for help, prompting the deployment of a team of firefighters to the scene.
“The victim did not suffer any injuries and only the engine and front portion of her vehicle was damaged,” he said.
