Johari appointed as Govt Backbenchers Club chairman
KUALA LUMPUR: Sungai Petani Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Johari Abdul has been appointed as Chairman of the Government Backbenchers Club.
Pakatan Harapan ( PH) chief secretary Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said Johari’s selection was agreed upon unanimously by PH presidential council which met on Aug 2.
Johari was PKR Chief Whip since 2013, Saifuddin said in a statement here.
Between 2008 and 2013, Johari was the party’s Deputy Chief Whip.
The MP, who is also Gurun assemblyman, holds a Master’s degree in strategic studies from University of Lancaster. — Bernama
