Pesta Benak 2018 gets RM35,000 boost from assistant minister
SRI AMAN: The organising committee of this year’s Pesta Benak ( Tidal Bore Festival) has received a government grant of RM30,000 from Assistant Minister of Community Wellbeing Datuk Francis Harden Hollis.
The handover ceremony took place at the Sri Aman Resident’s Office here yesterday.
According to Harden, who is Simanggang assemblyman, the grant was given with the objective of helping the organiser run the festival this year, which is scheduled to kick off this Friday.
Various activities, including games, entertainment shows and competitions, would be taking place along the Batang Lupar Waterfront here throughout the weekend.
Additionally, Harden also presented RM5,000 meant to fund the filming of this year’s festival.
Sri Aman Resident Indit Bangai received the allocations from Harden.
