Ningkan family clan to hold seventh reunion Sept 1

-

KUCHING: The Ningkan Family Clan will hold its seventh reunion on Sept 1 at a leading restaurant in the city.

Organising co- chairman Paul Murphy Ningkan said the Clan began organising annual reunion for all the family members starting 2016, rotating between Kuching, Betong and Miri as the venue. As in previous years, this year’s reunion theme is ‘Begulai Betemu Baru’ (gather and meet up again).

“There are about 400 surviving members of the Ningkan Clan to- date. Hence, this reunion is a good time to strengthen further the kinship as well as get to know the new addition to the clan,” said Paul, a son of the first chief minister of Sarawak, the late Tan Sri Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan. He also said members of the Ningkan Clan are found in most parts of Sarawak as well as in Singapore, Semenanjung Malaysia, Sabah, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

To add to the merriment of the reunion, a bowling tournament amongst family members will be held on Aug 31.
