EPF Miri collects RM20 million monthly contributions
MIRI: The Employees Provident Fund ( EPF) provides services to 7,738 employers in Miri and Limbang Divisions who are employing a total of 150,000 employees.
According to EPF Miri head Nellie Unyang Deng, the provident fund collects about RM20 million each month in EPF contributions from the region.
She said this during the EPF Miri Networking Programme and Presentation of Excellent Employers Award dinner held at a leading hotel here on Wednesday.
Nellie who will be retiring in September this year thanked government departments, government linked companies and other relevant organisations for their smooth co- operation with the EPF Miri.
Unyang said equally important was the cooperation of employers in remitting the EPF contributions of their staff on time before the 15th of every month.
At the event, EPF presented the Best Employers Awards 2017 to Sarawak Oil Palm Berhad (SOP) and Hot Cross Buns Café-Bakers ( EM) Sdn Bhd Miri to honour employers who are role models.
They were chosen out of the 7,738 employers in Miri based on four criteria — always paying on time, no outstanding payments and interest charges, paying online(e-payment) and always giving full cooperation to EPF officers.
Nellie presented the awards to representatives of the two companies — Wong Ping Ping (Assistant HR Manager) and Iris Yong from Corporate Department representing SOP and Then Yuh Bing ( Operation Executive) and Jordan Lim (Executive) from Hot Cross Bun.
