Musa has to take his oath of office as the assemblyman of Sungai Sibuga by Sept 11 or vacate the seat.

On Aug 15, Sabah State Assembly Speaker Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali ruled that Musa must be sworn in as assemblyman within three months of the first sitting of the new State Assembly as per the state constitution.

The new Sabah State Assembly sat for the first time on June 11, after the 14th general election on May 9.

Musa, who is also Sabah Barisan Nasional chairman, was sworn in as chief minister on May 10 after obtaining a simple majority but it was shortlived when several BN assemblymen switched allegiance to Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, who is now the new chief minister.

Musa is believed to have left Malaysia on May 17 to seek medical treatment in the United Kingdom.

Musa is also under police probe over alleged criminal intimidation against Sabah Yang di- Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
