PKR Sibuti Women chief drums up support for Fuziah Salleh

-

MIRI: PKR members in Sarawak should support Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Fuziah Salleh who is offering to contest for the post of PKR National Women chief as she plans to elevate women to a higher level in Malaysia, said PKR Sibuti Women chief Zulhaidah Suboh.

She also called on PKR women and youth, including grassroots members, to support Fuziah to steer the Women wing and the party through various reform agendas.

“Fuziah is one of the reformists of Pakatan Harapan ( PH) alongside Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Nurul Izzah Anwar during the ‘reformasi era’. So when we are in the government of the day we have to be ‘ neat’ in the reform agenda as she knows what are their struggles,” Zulhaidah told The Borneo Post yesterday.

The post of PKR National Women chief is expected to see a straight fight between Fuziah, who is Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Member of Parliament for Kuantan, and Selangor Exco for local government Haniza Talhah in the upcoming PKR annual general meeting in October this year.

According to Zulhaidah, Fuziah is well aware of what Sarawak is lacking in. Therefore, they must support Fuziah to be PKR National Women chief.

Besides that, she is vocal in championing the ‘ reformasi’ movement and what should be implemented by the PH government, Zulhaidah added.

“I am calling on all PKR members in Sarawak regardless of race and cultural background to support Fuziah for the post,” she exhorted.

Meanwhile, PKR Sibuti will have its annual general meeting at its office in Saberkas Commercial Centre on August 25 at 9am.
