Willie believes PH govt will give more grants to its MPs

-

KUCHING: Member of Parliament ( MP) for Puncak Borneo Willie Monging believes the Pakatan Harapan ( PH) government will allocate more grants for its MPs to disburse to the people in the future.

He said giving assistance in the form of grants to help all levels of society and non- government organisations ( NGOs) is in line with the PH manifesto in the last general election.

Willie said he would make sure that no one in his constituency would be sidelined in terms of grant allocation.

“I will do my very best to include everyone; every NGO regardless of race, religious beliefs and political inclination will have a share of the allocation in Puncak Borneo because the money is from the people and for the people.

“We in PH are inclusive. Of course, not everyone will get the same amount but I will make sure that every applicant will be given some amount depending on their needs.

“Aside from that, not all will get it this year; some may get theirs this year and some may have to wait for next year or so,” he said at the presentation of his first outright grants as an MP at his service centre here yesterday.

Some 14 organisations, mostly village security and development committees (JKKK) and parentteacher associations ( PTAs) in Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency received the grant amounting to RM80,210 from Willie.

He said more assistance would be given out in the future and urged the NGOs or the community in Puncak Borneo to come forward to apply for the federal government assistance through his service centre at Bratan, Jalan Puncak Borneo.

He also reminded that the grant allocation was meant only for organisations and not for individuals.

“As long as your request for the grant is for your organisations or associations’ use, I will do my level best to assist,” he said.
