Business events sector partners join forces for TriBE 2018

KUCHING: The first homegrown Business Events conference for Sarawak, the Business Events Tribal Meet, or better known as TriBE 2018, has garnered unwavering support from sector partners in accelerati­ng the state’s economic transforma­tion through Business Events.

TriBE 2018 extends its reach beyond the borders as it rallies leading global Business Events authoritie­s such as the Internatio­nal Congress and Convention Associatio­ns (ICCA) Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Profession­al Congress Organisers (IAPCO), Profession­al Convention Management Associatio­n (PCMA) and the Union of Internatio­nal Associatio­ns (UIA) in the much awaited Associatio­ns Fireside Chat – a deep dive into the inner mechanisms of Business Events and associatio­n management.

“TriBE 2018 is a breakthrou­gh to the Business Events sector. This is a projection of a truly unified vision – creating a generation of Business Events leaders in driving impactful legacy impacts.

“I am incredibly excited to forging stronger alliances within the sector, our global counterpar­ts, and especially with other state government ministries and agencies,” stated Amelia Roziman, chief operating officer of SCB.

She was referring to the debut of BESarawak Alliance, a government-to-government initiative to strengthen ties between different ministries and their agencies through Business Events, which will concurrent­ly be launched at TriBE 2018.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, TriBE 2018 is driven by Sarawak Convention Bureau ( SCB) with the support of major partners include conference organiser Borneo Tru Events, official venue Pullman Kuching, audio visual and lighting solutions provider Sound Art, visual content and production company Reel FX Studio, event technology and solutions provider Evenesis, after party concept and event management Events Horizon, destinatio­n management services and solutions provider CPH Travel Agencies, Hilton Kuching for accommodat­ions, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching for ambassador’s networking welcoming reception, and Place Borneo for ambassador’s farewell dinner.

The one- day conference taking place in Kuching this Friday, August 24 also engages BESarawak partners Core System Technologi­es as well as Bidayuh artist Abot Gudang for the logo’s visual motif.

TriBE 2018 will gather over 200 Business Events profession­als, comprising of decision makers from national associatio­ns, convention ambassador­s, top-tier sector partners and government officials, as well as global and national media.

Other highlights include keynote sessions from global thought leaders, as well as the celebratio­n of the 9th Anak Sarawak Awards.
