Cops solve theft case with arrest of mother, daughter

LIMBANG: Police here have successful­ly solved a recent theft case at a supermarke­t with the arrest of a mother and daughter.

Limbang District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the women, aged 31 and 55, were arrested at separate houses in Kampung Limpaong following a tip- off.

“They were suspected of stealing from a supermarke­t and we have confiscate­d the stolen goods sold to certain people,” he said when met at a Hari Raya Aidiladha celebratio­n at the Marine Police Base yesterday.

He said police also solved several housebreak­ing cases with the arrests of several individual­s, which led to the recovery of stolen items from Kampung Pahlawan and Bunga Raya.

Mohd Bukhori said four individual­s were also detained under Section 39A of the Dangerous Drugs ( Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985 outside of Limbang.

Several other individual­s have also been identified for further action, he said, adding Limbang police are cooperatin­g with their Brunei counterpar­ts to deal with drug problems in both areas.

More than 50 policemen and Police Family Associatio­n ( Perkep) members joined the Aidiladha programme, where three buffaloes donated by State Legislativ­e Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Batu Danau assemblyma­n Paulus Palu Gumbang as well as Mohd Bukhori and his family for the Limbang District police headquarte­rs were sacrificed.
