Cops solve theft case with arrest of mother, daughter
LIMBANG: Police here have successfully solved a recent theft case at a supermarket with the arrest of a mother and daughter.
Limbang District police chief Supt Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the women, aged 31 and 55, were arrested at separate houses in Kampung Limpaong following a tip- off.
“They were suspected of stealing from a supermarket and we have confiscated the stolen goods sold to certain people,” he said when met at a Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at the Marine Police Base yesterday.
He said police also solved several housebreaking cases with the arrests of several individuals, which led to the recovery of stolen items from Kampung Pahlawan and Bunga Raya.
Mohd Bukhori said four individuals were also detained under Section 39A of the Dangerous Drugs ( Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985 outside of Limbang.
Several other individuals have also been identified for further action, he said, adding Limbang police are cooperating with their Brunei counterparts to deal with drug problems in both areas.
More than 50 policemen and Police Family Association ( Perkep) members joined the Aidiladha programme, where three buffaloes donated by State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang as well as Mohd Bukhori and his family for the Limbang District police headquarters were sacrificed.
